On the surface, The Equalizer may not seem like a show about true love: It follows former CIA operative Robyn McCall (Queen Latifah), who uses her experience with data analysis, combat training and vigilante justice to help those in need. But the series' characters are in some sweet relationships — just like its off-screen cast.

Robyn's will-they or wont-they dynamic with Detective Marcus Dante (Tory Kittles) has been a viewership draw for years, with season 5 showing the two growing closer. The fandom around their relationship is actually one of Kittles' favorite parts of starring in The Equalizer.

“What I love about the way we've built up to this is that myself and Queen Latifah have been getting it every time we're in the streets," Kittles told Screenrant in 2024. "People want to know ... ‘What's going to happen with McCall and Dante? We want them to get together. We want to know.’ "

Off-screen, Queen Latifah has attended events with partner Eboni Nichols, while Goldberg has been married to wife Roxanne Daner since 2014.

Here's everything to know about the real-life partners of CBS’ The Equalizer cast.

Queen Latifah and Eboni Nichols

Eboni Nichols and Queen Latifah attend the 97th Annual Oscars on March 02, 2025 in Hollywood, California.

Like her character Robyn McCall — whose life is shrouded in mystery — Queen Latifah (born Dana Owens) likes to keep her relationships private.

“You don’t get that part of me,” she said in a 2008 The New York Times interview.

The actress has been linked to Eboni Nichols, who worked alongside the “U.N.I.T.Y.” singer on the 2007 film Hairspray.

In May 2023, the two women held hands at the amfAR Cannes Gala in France. One year later, they did a joint interview in custom Thom Browne looks at the 2024 Met Gala.

"It's just so exciting: all the cameras, everyone's screaming Dana's name," Nichols told the Vogue livestream. "It's lovely."

"I'm actually quite happy," Latifah added. "This has been a wonderful experience, everything from top to bottom.”

Since then, Latifah and Nichols have attended other events together, including the 2025 Oscars and Broadway opening of Purpose.

Tory Kittles

Tory Kittles attends the 2024 Tribeca Festival on June 09, 2024 in New York City.

While the developing romance between Robyn and Kittles’ Marcus Dante has long kept Equalizer fans on the edge of their seats, the actor keeps his personal life largely off-limits. Kittles has not publicly confirmed if he's currently in a relationship.

In 2022, Kittles said that the on-screen relationship between his character Marcus and Latifah's Robyn is "slippery."

“They clearly have these feelings for each other that have been building for some time now,” Kittles told TV Insider. “So the question really is, ‘Will they? Or won’t they?’ They seem to be on the verge, but is it the best idea? I’m excited to see how it plays out.”

Adam Goldberg and Roxanne Daner

Adam Goldberg and his wife Roxanne Daner arrive to the screening of "Kiss the Future" on June 7, 2023 in New York City.

Adam Goldberg has a fictional wife in his The Equalizer costar Liza Lapira, and a real one in creative director Roxanne Daner.

The couple tied the knot in a 2014 ceremony on Halloween in Orange County, Calif.

“I always joke it was the scariest Halloween ever. But it was the best,” Goldberg wrote in a 2024 anniversary Instagram tribute to his bride.

In March 2013, the couple’s first son, Bix, died four days after his projected due date. Adam and Roxanne have since welcomed sons Bud and Sonny.

Liza Lapira

Liza Lapira visits SiriusXM Studios on December 09, 2024 in New York City.

Lapira is no stranger to love on the small screen: In addition to her relationship on The Equalizer, she led the 2022 Christmas film Must Love Christmas. The actress has not publicly confirmed if she's currently in a relationship.

However, Lapira has called her character's marriage to Harry Keshegian "aspirational."

"I like that we're each other's safety net," she told ScreenRant in 2024. "It mirrors what justice is in this show. We all know there's not a hundred percent of justice a hundred percent of the time. Some days, it feels like quite the opposite."

Laya DeLeon Hayes

Laya Deleon Hayes attends Netflix's "His Three Daughters" Screening on September 05, 2024 in New York City.

Delilah (Laya DeLeon Hayes), Robyn McCall’s teenage daughter, has a boyfriend named Cameron (Nathaniel Logan McIntyre). But Hayes herself hasn't publicly shared if she's in a relationship.

The actress, who won a BAFTA Games Award in 2023 for Best Performer in a Supporting Role, has had challenges balancing her work and personal life.

“I think that's something I'm still trying to figure out ... especially moving into young adulthood,” she told American Studies magazine in 2024. “For so long, everything that I did was focused on my career. It's been interesting to realize that there's other things that I also do enjoy outside of this and how those things also affect the way that you work in really wonderful ways.”

Lorraine Toussaint

Lorraine Toussaint attends the 56th NAACP Image Awards Creative Honors on February 21, 2025 in Los Angeles, California.

On the show, Lorraine Toussaint’s Aunt Vi experiences the ups and downs of a relationship struggles with girlfriend Trish. But in real life, Toussaint has not publicly confirmed if she's currently dating anyone.

In June 2019, TMZ reported that Toussaint had filed for divorce from her ex-husband, Robert Michael Tomlinson, after two years of marriage.

Toussaint is the mother of a daughter named Samara, telling Huffington Post in 2014 that she's a single mom "by design."

“How do you date with a child? I don't know how,” she said. “I would like to date. I don't plan to live alone the rest of my life.”
